DRAFTSMAN
Job description
Berard Transportation, Inc. started in 1945 with moving one house and has grown into the Heavy Transport Experts we are today. Excellent pay and benefits package including Health and Dental Insurance, 401k plus matching and profit sharing after one year,1 week of vacation upon completion of 6 months of employment and company paid cellular phone/service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Create drawings for upcoming projects (ie. transport plans, jacking plans, barging layouts, ballast layouts; tie-down plans, weighing layouts, trucking/permit drawings)
- Revise project drawings as required
- Review schedule for upcoming projects
- Assist with equipment lists/BOM for project materials
- Calculate loads on SPMTs, trailers, barge deck, spmt/barge grillage, etc.
- Create or revise Berard equipment drawings as required
- Receive feedback from field personnel for drawing updates
- Create job folders for field/shop personnel use
- Provide accurate record keeping of work completed and all required reporting systems.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Capable of making decisions using sound reasoning from prior work experience.
- Must possess resources to solve problems with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbally) and work well with others.
- Must possess a strong work ethic, founded in personal responsibility and accountability.
- Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with quality workmanship.
- Must be willing to work under tight deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
- Receptive to instruction and has a keen desire to develop capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) years of experience performing AutoCAD work.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college or trade school preferred.
- Ability to work full-time, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Salary depends on experience
EXPERIENCE:
- AutoCAD: 2 years (Preferred)
- MS Office Programs
- CAD Software Preferred
- AutoCAD v.2016 & up
