Diesel | Fleet Mechanic – New Iberia, LA

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

o Maintain equipment
o Manual labor as directed by supervisor
o Repair equipment (as per capabilities allowed – determined by Mechanic Supervisor and corporate management
o Inspect equipment for operational suitability
o Repair/troubleshoot SPMT’s and various hydraulic trailers and/or equipment
o Operate equipment as needed for testing (as per capabilities allow – determined by Mechanic Supervisor and corporate management)
o Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on tractor and trailer equipment.
o Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
o Helps establish and maintain shop procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
o Maintains a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
o Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE | SKILLS:

o High School diploma or equivalent preferred
o Knowledge/experience with SPMT’s (Self Propelled Modular Transporters)
o Experience with equipment in Heavy Haul/Specialized Transportation industry preferred
o Experience with tractor/trailer equipment

Crane Operator | New Iberia & US

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities
o Responsible for the safe operation of crane used in heavy lifting and transport
o Assist team leader and signal persons
o Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers
o Responsible for slings, cables, straps, and the crane prior to lifting operations
o Perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of crane
o Supervise oiling of the crane
o Responsible for own and rigger’s compliance with company policy, safety guidelines and procedures that pertain to the crane operator’s job
o Remains in continual voice (radio), hand, and/or communication with rigger while operating the crane
o Assures that all lifts are within load limits of equipment and correctly rigged
o Assures that lifting gear is inspected prior to use
o Operates crane equipment to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
o Performs tasks assigned by Supervisor during lifting procedures
o Extensive travel may be required
o Other duties may be assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

o High School diploma or equivalent education

o 3+ years crane operating experience

o Must be certified as a crane operator through a third party certifier (NCCCO, NCCER, etc.)

o Basic written and verbal skills

o Ability to preform basic mathematical skills

o Must be reliable and have the ability to accept responsibility for his/her actions

o For new hires, must meet all Berard Transportation, Inc. employment qualifications in force at the time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen

Project Engineer | New Iberia

Class A CDL Driver | New Iberia

CDL Class A Driver – New Iberia, LA

DUTIES

• • 3-5 years’ experience in the Heavy Trucking industry preferred
  • Operate within DOT laws and regulations
  • Pulling over dimensional loads
  • Flexibility to travel is a must
  • Must possess a Class A CDL with a clean driving record
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Driver must be willing to rig on jobs after delivery of equipment
  • Rigging for crane lifts
  • Operate forklift or other non-crane equipment (as trained)
  • Assemble and provide labor for jacking projects
  • Assemble and provide labor for skidding projects
