It all began with one small house. In the sweltering summer of 1945, Roy Berard Sr., an innovative sugar cane farmer, was offered fifty dollars to move a friend’s house a few miles away. Using nothing more than an old truck and a homemade trailer, Roy completed the job in a single day. Reflecting on that experience, he said, “Back then, $50 seemed like $50,000 to me—an amazing reward for a day of hard work.” Word of his accomplishment quickly spread, transforming the modest farming operation into what is now Berard, a leader in heavy and specialized transportation. Roy’s dedication to quality remains the foundation of the company’s success. Since those humble beginnings, Berard has carried forward its founder’s core values, earning its reputation as the premier choice for innovative and reliable transport solutions.

This legacy of ingenuity has been passed down through the generations, shaping the family business into the powerhouse it is today. After Roy Berard Sr., leadership passed to his eldest son, Johnny Berard, who now serves as the company’s President. His brother, Randy Berard, leads as Chief Executive Officer, while the third generation continues to steer the business forward. Braedon Berard, Chief Operations Officer, and his cousin Brett Berard, Vice President of Operations, bring fresh energy and vision to this iconic Southern enterprise.
